Anime shows on Netflix you should totally give a shot



By now, you’ve probably already binge-watched well-loved anime series such as “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba,” “My Hero Academia,” “Attack on Titan,” and the like.


But Netflix actually has quite the selection of interesting animes you could lose yourself in, and is there a better time to check it out than during quarantine?


Here are some shows that are worth giving a chance, easily accessible in Netflix:


1. Re: Zero – Starting Life in Another World

What it’s about: On his way home from the convenience store, teenager Subaru Natsuki is transported to another world, where he gains the power to reverse time by dying.

Why you should watch it: Beautiful art, and a big ball of timey-wimey, wibbly-wobbly stuff.


2. Mob Psycho 100

What it’s about: Middle schooler Shigeo looks normal, but he’s secretly a formidable psychic whose powers threaten to break free unless he represses his emotions.

Why you should watch it: Visuals with unique treatment and oddball humor.


3. Devilman Crybaby

What it’s about: With demons reawakened and humanity in turmoil, a sensitive demon-boy is led into a brutal, degenerate war against evil by his mysterious friend, Ryo.

Why you should watch it: Boy turns into a being that holds the power of a demon, but with a human heart.

4. Your Lie in April

What it’s about: After his mother’s death, a piano prodigy’s will to play disappears. But meeting a free-spirited girl who plays the violin turns his life around.

Why you should watch it: Touching coming-of-age story, classical music, and amazing art.


5. Erased

What it’s about: Satoru Fujinuma can travel back in time to save others’ lives. When he wakes up 18 years in the past, he has a chance to save his murdered classmates.

Why you should watch it: Crime, suspense, with supernatural elements in between.


6. Noragami

What it’s about: Though he’s a deity, nobody really worships Yato. But after he teams with a young girl, the pair sets out to bring him the recognition he craves.

Why you should watch it: An interesting take on Japanese gods and worship.


7. Juni Taisen: Zodiac War

What it’s about: Twelve warriors join a battle royale in a deserted city: they have 12 hours to extract poisonous gems from the 11 other competitors or they all die.

Why you should watch it: “Hunger Games” but make it anime. Also without the politics.


8. The Royal Tutor

What it’s about: An enigmatic professor who’s often mistaken for a child is hired to tutor four problem princes who’d rather do anything but study with a teacher.

Why you should watch it: Will these brats shape up or nah? Character development is A+.


9. Assassination Classroom

What it’s about: A destructive alien who is threatening Earth becomes a schoolteacher whose students are tasked with killing him, even though they adore his fun ways.

Why you should watch it: Twisted camaraderie.


10. Ajin: Demi-Human

What it’s about: A teenager discovers that he is an Ajin and flees before the authorities experiment on him. Other Ajin plan to fight back and he must choose a side.

Why you should watch it: Another thriller with cliffhangers featuring government conspiracies and demigods.

11. The Promised Neverland

What it’s about: When three gifted kids learn that their isolated orphanage isn’t the haven they thought, they vow to lead the other children in a risky escape plan.

Why you should watch it: Thriller with cliffhangers and demons.


12. Classroom of the Elite

What it’s about: When Kiyotaka enters an elite government-sponsored high school, he finds out just how merit-based this education system is.

Why you should watch it: Very smart and very rich kids in cutthroat environment trope.


13. Yona of the Dawn

What it’s about: Traumatized by the murder of her father by her beloved suitor, a young princess vows to protect her kingdom and reclaim the throne.

Why you should watch it: Empowering story of a girl transforming into a strong female lead.


14. Saga of Tanya the Evil

What it’s about: Young Tanya is a ruthless military mage with ferocious powers. She’s also a reincarnated salaryman trying to stay one step ahead of a godlike entity.

Why you should watch it: Dark, funny, and irreverent.


15. Ultraman

What it’s about: Decades ago, a hero from the stars left this world in peace. Now, the son of Ultraman must rise to protect the Earth from a new alien threat.

Why you should watch it: Reimagining of a classic.
