Studio Wanpack Closes After 24 Years Due to Founder’s Death




The industry has lost another studio as Studio Wanpack announced that they will be closing down following the death of their found Koji Yamada on January 2.


The Osaka based studio never served as an anime’s headliner, but they played a vital role in the production of hundreds of anime. Studio Wanpack, which employed nearly 90 staff members, was a premier outsource studio that provided key animation and in-between anime work.

Studio Wanpack will officially close their doors on February 28. One of their last assignments was working on episode 4 of Laid-Back Camp.
