Haikyu!! Manga Gets New TV Anime Series




Fans of Haikyu!!, the TV anime adaptation based on the volleyball sports manga by Haruichi Furudate, will be happy to learn that a fourth season of the series is in-development. Although few details about the new season (such as the cast, the staff, and the release date) have yet been revealed, a new key visual and a new teaser trailer (below) have been released.



The original Haikyu!! manga is serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump manga magazine, and an English language version is also available from Viz Media. The previous three seasons of the Haikyu!! TV anime as well as the Haikyu!! theatrical anime films are directed by Susumu Mitsunaka and feature animation production by Production I.G. Crunchyroll describes the story of Haikyu!! as follows:



Based off of the original Weekly Shonen Jump manga series from Haruichi Furudate, Haikyu!! is a slice-of-life sports anime revolving around Shoyo Hinata’s love of volleyball. Inspired by a small-statured pro volleyball player, Hinata creates a volleyball team in his last year of middle school. Unfortunately the team is matched up against the “King of the Court” Tobio Kageyama’s team in their first tournament and inevitably lose. After the crushing defeat, Hinata vows to surpass Kageyama After entering high school, Hinata joins the volleyball team only to find that Tobio has also joined.
