Toei Animation, the studio behind the Dragon Ball series, has announced the artist and song for the opening and ending theme for Dragon Ball Super.
The opening will be titled “Chozetsu ☆ Dynamic!” (Chozetsu = Transcendence) and will be by Japanese singer/songwriter Kazuya Yoshii.
Yoshii is new to the Dragon Ball scene, but you may have heard him as part of the now defunct Japanese hard rock/glam rock group, The Yellow Monkey, who performed “Tactics”, the first ending theme for the Rurouni Kenshin anime. Below is a picture of Yoshii and the Yellow Monkey’s “Tactics”.
Good Morning America is known to Dragon Ball Kai fans as they performed the third ending for the series, “Haikei, Zarathustra” (Haikei = Dear). You can take a listen to that song below and look at a picture of the group.
Dragon Ball Super will be released this July on a Sunday sometime in the month. A specific date has not yet been announced, so we at Saiyan Island are assuming the first one of the month, July 5th. Of course we will let you know if a different date is announced. FUNimation, the company behind Dragon Ball in North America, has not yet announced any information about an English version of the anime, dubbed or subtitled. If things go as we hope them to, there should be an official version of Dragon Ball Super episodes on the web as soon as they air in Japan.
No story details have been announced for the series either except it will take place after the Majin Buu arc.
