“Tokyo Ghoul:Re” TV Anime Planned For 2018



As previously reported that on the Tokyo Ghoul: The Movie release, Young Jump magazine is planning to make a big announcement for the Tokyo Ghoul: Re on October 12, 2017. But that announcement seems to be a different thing because today it was announced that the manga Tokyo Ghoul: re finally gets a TV anime adaptation.


An official website launched by Marvelous announced that Sui Ishida’s Tokyo Ghoul: re manga is getting television anime adaptation set to release in 2018. It was also announced that Natsuki Hanae will play as Ken Kaneki in the series. In addition, an announcement video was also revealed for the new season of the anime and more details regarding new season will be announced at a later date.

“TOKYO GHOUL:RE” ANIME ANNOUNCED FOR 2018

Tokyo Ghoul is a Japanese dark fantasy manga series by Sui Ishida. It was serialized in Shueisha’s seinen manga magazine Weekly Young Jump between September 2011 and September 2014 and has been collected in fourteen tankōbon volumes as of August 2014. A sequel titled Tokyo Ghoul :re begin to serialization in the same magazine in October 2014 and a prequel titled Tokyo Ghoul Jack ran online on Jump Live.


The first season of the anime aired in Sep 2014 produced by Studio Pierrot with 12-episode and the second season titled Tokyo Ghoul √A, following original story began airing on January 8, 2015, with the same number of episodes as in the first season. Viz Media published the manga while Funimation has licensed the anime series for streaming and home video distribution in North America. A live-action film based on the manga directed by Kentarō Hagiwara was also released in Japan on July 29, 2017.


Three light novels have been released so far, all are written by Shin Towada, with illustrations done by series creator Sui Ishida. Tokyo Ghoul: Days was released on June 19, 2013, which serves as side story/spin-off that focuses on the daily lives of characters from the Tokyo Ghoul series.

Struggling to adapt to his new life, Ken tries his best to fit into ghoul society, keep his monstrous status hidden from humans, and reign in the insatiable hunger he has for flesh.
